Case filed against Tarek Sayeed in Comilla

A case has been filed against former Lt Col Tarek Sayeed Mohammad and four officers of Rab-11 on charges of abduction of two people in Comilla. Tarek Sayeed was the Commanding Officer of Narayanganj-based Rapid Action Battalion (Rab)-11. He is also one of the accused in killing of 7 people in Narayanganj last month. Md Rongu Miah, father of victim Humayun Kabir Parvez, filed the case in Comilla’s sixth Judicial Magistrate’s Court on Sunday. Other accused are Rab-11 company commander Maj Shahed Raji, Deputy Assistant Director Shahjahan Ali, and SIs Kazi Sultan Ahmed and Asit Kumar Roy. Senior Judicial Magistrate Sabrina Nargis took the case into cognisance and ordered the Laksam Police Station OC to investigate it. According to case details, the accused Rab members robbed Tk 1.4 million from the factory of the ‘Bangladesh Flour Mill’ in Doulatganj market in Laksam on the night of November 27 last year. On the same night they detained one Saiful Islam Hiru, Humayun Kabir Parvez and another person named Jasimuddin. Jasimuddin was handed over to police while the two others still remain traceless, the case statement said, according to a news agency.
