Cash distributed among erosion-hit families

GAIBANDHA, Sep 3: Chars Livelihoods programme (CLP), funded by DFID, distributed cash money among the river-erosion affected families of Fulchhari Upazila in the district Thursday aimed at mitigating their sufferings due to erosion.
CLP sources said Tk 0.375 million (3.75 lakh) was distributed on the day among 125 erosion-hit families of Erendabari Union of the upazila in the district. Each of the families got Tk 3,000.
Deputy Commissioner Quazi Md Anwarul Hakim distributed the cash money among the erosion victims being present as the chief guest at the function.
UNO of Fulchhari Upazila M Habibur Rahman, and CLP's District Social Development Manager Abul Kalam Azad were also present on the occasion.
More than 1,369 affected persons of Sadar and Fulchhari Upazilas would be distributed cash money under this programme, the CLP sources said.
