Cash, valuables worth Tk 0.5m looted

Miscreants looted valuables worth Tk 0.5 million from a house after doping five members of a family in Jhikorgacha Upazila in Jessore district on Sunday night. Relatives of the victims said a gang of miscreants sprayed some kind of doping chemical in the house of Abdus Samad, 60, in Ganganandapur village and, as an effect, all the family members lost their consciousness around 10:00pm. Later, the miscreants broke into the house and looted Tk 0.1 million cash, six bhoris of gold ornaments, five mobile phones and other valuable items. At one point, the villagers heard a noise coming from the direction of Samad’s house and went there to inquire about it. They found the five family members in a feeble condition and took them to Jessore 250-bed Hospital, according to a news agency.
