Cattle trader killed in BSF firing on Joypurhat frontier

JOYPURHAT, July 31 (UNB): A Bangladeshi cattle trader was shot dead by Indian Border Security Force on Hatkhola frontier in Panchbibi Upazila here Monday night.
The dead was identified as Jamirul Islam Mondol, son of Moksed Ali Mondol of Nandail village of the upazila.
BDR sources said as BSF troops of Sedai BOP fired three rounds of bullet from near the pillar no 281. BDR jawans also fired seven rounds of bullet in retaliation at about 10:30 pm. No casualty was reported during the exchange of fire at night.
BDR confirmed Tuesday morning that Jamirul had been killed in BSF firing and BSF had taken away the body.
BDR asked BSF to return of the body of the Bangladeshi cattle trader immediately.
