CBC sponsors fund to boost Grameen Khadi

Commercial Bank of Ceylon (CBC) PLC has sponsored fund to 'Grameen Khadi-Chandina, Comilla' for development of Grameen Khadi by donating machinery and carrying out its office renovation expense as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR).
CBC Country Manager S Prabagar handed over a cheque to Arun Guha, owner of Grameen Khadi-Chandina, to meet the expenses in the presence of Bibi Russell, a fashion designer and former international model of the country who has been instrumental in popularising Khadi fabrics worldwide.
S Prabagar, in his speech on the occasion, said the commitment of CBC towards neglected sectors like Grameen Khadi will be continued and many worthy projects will be undertaken in future.
Dilip Das Gupta, SGM, Dilan Rajapakse, COO, and Mahmood Rashid, AGM of the bank, were also present at the programme, according to a press release.
