CCC, CDA to coordinate dev schemes

Our CorrespondentCHITTAGONG, Oct 20: Chittagong Development Authority(CDA) and Chittagong City Corporation (CCC), both responsible for infrastructure development of the port city, have finally found a way through which they can both advance their development projects in a concerted way.
The two local government agencies today agreed to coordinate with each other while advancing their development projects in a concerted effort for speedy implementation of the same.
The reconciliation came from a meeting between City Mayor Monjur Alam and CDA Chairman Abdus Salam. The meeting, held at the mayor's office, was attended by senior officials and engineers of the CDA and CCC in the morning, the mayor office said.
The CDA chairman said the two leaders will extend support to each other's projects and may take coordinated efforts in expediting infrastructure development to ensure better services and facilities to the city dwellers.
Salam said the CDA has undertaken massive development projects such as extension of Dewanhat-Alongkar Road, Gani Bakery-Kapashgola Road, Chawkbazar Oli Khan Mosque-Muradpur Road and Laldighi-Anderkilla Road, construction of One Kilometer-Bahaddarhat Overpass, Station Road-Baitush Sharaf Overpass and construction of three other overpasses at Railway Gate No 2, GEC Intersection and WASA Intersection.
He sought cooperation of the CCC mayor for smooth completion of development works of the schemes now under implementation.
The meeting was attended by CEO, magistrate, chief engineers, superintending engineers, estate officer and councilors of the CCC and chief engineer and city planners of CDA.
