CCC councillor jailed for 2 years

A mobile court has sentenced a ward counicllor of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) to two years in jail for hindering an eviction drive.Executive Magistrate Nazia Shirin who led the mobile court issued the order on Wednesday. Alam prevented CCC officials from evicting encroachers from a canal in Chandgaon, Shirin told bdnews24.com. He also assaulted female workers of CCC. The ward counillor tried to prevent the authorities from conducting the drive on Tuesday.
