CHITTAGONG, Oct 21 (bdnews24.com): LGRD Minister Syed Ashraful Islam has urged the Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) authorities to boost its income.
"If it (CCC) does not augment its own income, it'll have to plead for money from the central government for different development functions," he said.
The minister was speaking at an opinion exchange meeting as chief guest at the CCC auditorium Thursday.
Syed Ashraf said, "Chittagong should prepare itself for the future. The LGRD Ministry will approve all the backlogged CCC development projects."
He suggested the port city authorities to collect invoices that were due from different private institutions.
The significance of the city would increase much more when the Dhaka-Chittagong-Kunming link-road and deep-sea port would be constructed, the minister added.
He assured the CCC mayor that no development works of the corporation would be hindered because of the dissimilarity in political identities.
