CCCI gets new set of leaders, MA Latif president

An emergency meeting of the newly elected board of directors of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) was held at CCCI Conference Hall in Chittagong Monday, says a press release.
The meeting was presided over by CCCI Director Mohammed Amirul Haque.
As per agenda of the meeting, the board unanimously elected M.A. Latif as President, Abdul Salam as Senior Vice-President and S.M. Shafiul Hoque as Vice-President of the chamber for the term 2009-2010.
Newly elected President M.A. Latif is the managing partner of Micro Marketing Company. His father late Fazlul Hoque was an eminent business personality and social worker.
He was the elected director of Chittagong Chamber in 1997, vice-president for 2000-2001 and senior vice-president for 2007-2008 terms.
Mr Latif was also director of Sadharan Bima Corporation and Jiban Bima Corporation. For the last two decade he has been performing a very dynamic role in solving the problems relating to trade and commerce including those of the stakeholders of Chittagong Port and SMEs.
Senior Vice-President Mr. M.A. Salam achieved graduation degree in Management from University of Louisiana.
Stepping into the business arena in 1985, he established many RMG factories and related accessories industries. He is the Managing Director of Asian Group.
He was elected 1st Vice-President of BGMEA for three consecutive times.
Mr. Salam is the board member of Chittagong Development Authority, founder director of Southern Medical College and Hospital and chairman of the managing committee of East Delta University.
The newly elected vice-president Mr. S.M. Shafiul Hoque is the director of country's leading RMG industry- Choice Group. He is also the director of Republic Insurance Company Ltd.
