CCCI hails govt's 'open sky system'

CHITTAGONG, Sept 23: Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) president sent a fax message to Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmad Saturday hailing the decision of launching 'Open Sky System' at the three international airports of the country.
The decision was made in the meeting of the council of advisers in the city recently.
Describing the step very well-timed, CCCI President Saifuzzaman Chowdhury said it would help resolve various problems persisting in different fields of transporting passengers by air.
It would also attract more passengers and unveil the new horizon of foreign investment.
Referring to the de-regulation of worldwide air transport system, the CCCI president said many developed countries of the world have introduced open sky system.
He called upon the chief adviser to permit low-cost economy airlines operating in different regions of the world to operate their flights from the country.
