CCCI holds meeting with Sumitomo delegation

CHATTOGRAM, Aug 27: Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) held a view-exchange meeting with the representatives of Sumitomo Corporation of Japan.
The meeting was held at the hall room of World Trade Centre (WTC) in the port city on Sunday.
Noriyuki Hattori and Shinichi Nagata of Sumitomo Corporation of Japan led the delegation. The meeting was chaired by CCCI president Mahbubul Alam. Addressing the meeting, Noriyuki Hattori of Sumitomo Corporation of Japan said, "The companies of Japan are interested to work with Bangladesh in civil and mechanical engineering sectors. The leading companies are also interested to involve with the construction work in Bangladesh."
He said, "The work of Matarbari Deep Sea port which are done by Shumitomo Corporation is continuing in full swing now. The 95 per cent work of first phase of the deep sea port has been completed now while the work of the second and third phase will be started soon."
CCCI president Mahbubul Alam said, "Japan is the friend of Bangladesh. The friendly relation among the people of Japan and Bangladesh is an example for others. We are also interested to work with Japanese companies particularly in private sectors."
Among others, newly-elected president of CCCI Omar Hajjaj and Directors of CCCI were present.
