CCCI holds roundtable

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 15: A roundtable meeting on 'Transforming the manufacturing sector in the era of technology' was held at a hotel in Chattogram city on Thursday.
Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) arranged the meeting at the CCCI office at the World Trade Centre in the port city.
CCCI President Mahbubul Alam chaired the function, while CCCI Vice President Sayed Mohammed Tanvir moderated the meeting.
Vice President of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India and Advisory Lead of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) India Arnab Basu, and senior partner of PwC Mamun Rashid, among others, spoke at the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, CCCI President Mahbubul Alam said, "We need to develop technological knowledge to sustain the competition in the manufacturing sector."
Speaking on the occasion, Arnab Basu said, "There is no alternative to the development of technology in the manufacturing sector. Digital technology and even robots can help the sector increase the volume of production."
Former president of CCCI Engr Ali Ahamod, CCCI Director Anjan Shekhor Das, BGMEA Vice President Rakibul Alam Chowdhury, former director of CCCI M Mohiuddin Chowdhury, Head of Corporate of BSRM Group Munir Hossen, and Chittagong University's Prof Dr Arif Iftekhar addressed the meeting.
Also present at the meeting were Abu Hossen of Singen Global Limited, Rubayet Faisal of GTR Limited, Komolendu Shing of Smrity Makers Limited, Sarwar Hossen of Sufi Knitting Limited, and Saidul Islam of Fobian Group.
It may be mentioned that a total of 35 entrepreneurs of 20 sectors participated in the meeting.
