CCCI holds training camp on trade defence mechanism in Ctg

CHITTAGONG, Dec 06: A training camp on "Trade Defense Mechanism in Bangladesh" was held at Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) auditorium today financed by the European Union (EU) with technical collaboration of a Spanish organisation under Bangladesh Trade Support Programme (BTSP) project
The aim of the project is to earmark the local industries of Bangladesh which are being affected due to dumping and adopting protective guidelines.
CCCI President in his address of welcome said the present economic age is based on knowledge and members of the business community must be well informed about different trade agreements and rules of World Trade Organisation (WTO).
Guster Brin produced a multimedia presentation on the issue and answered to different queries of the participants. He discussed in details on different aspects for undertaking initiatives on anti-dumping programme as approved by the WTO.
Bangladesh based Chief consultant of this project AK Manwaruddin, Tariff Commission Research officer and CCCI Director were present on the occassion.
