CCCI office shifted to WTC building

CHITTAGONG, June 9: Office of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) has been shifted to the newly-built World Trade Centre (WTC) building at Agrabad in the city.
Awami League MP MA Latif opened the name-plaque Friday afternoon while the CCCI president and other directors were present on the occasion.
Mr Latif said the WTC is a world class structure and pride of the business society and the country. Bangladesh will deliver the message of its development to the world through this centre, he said and added that the CCCI has been playing important role in trade, business and investment since Pakistan period.
Mentioning the day as historic in the private sector and country's economic development CCCI president Murshed Murad Ibrahim said that Chittagong has given birth to another movement in the private sector development by constructing the first WTC in the country. He informed that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will formally inaugurate the WTC in October 2012, and for preparation in this respect the CCCI office has been shifted to the building.
CCCI senior vice president Mahbubul Alam expected that Bangladesh is going to give more efforts in expanding trade and business as a member of the WTC Association in the USA.
Vice president Nurun Newaz Selim, MA Salam, Mazharul Islam Chowdhury, Mahfuzul Hoque Shah, SM Mahbubul Alam, Asheek Bhuiyan among the directors attended the function.
