CCCI president for Biman flights on Ctg-Chiangmai-Bangkok route

CHITTAGONG, Dec 19: Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) MA Latif in a fax message to the Chief Adviser's Special Assistant Mahbub Jamil requested to introduce Biman Bangladesh flights on the Chittagong-Chiangmai-Bangkok route for the convenience of the people including the business community of the region.
Referring to the strategic and favourable location of Chittagong and availability of adequate facilities needed for flourishing the tourism industry, the CCCI president said Chittagong being the commercial capital of the country is being considered the hub of trade, commerce and tourism.
As the Thai Airways' flights from Chittagong have remained suspended for long four months, causing immense sufferings to tourists and other passengers.
The CCCI chief expressed his optimism that Biman flights on the route would help enhance its income and also boost hotel, tourism and related industries of the region, apart from building the Shah Amanat International Airport as one of the busiest airports.
