CDA undertakes huge development projects

CHITTAGONG, June 2: Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) has come up with a number of major development projects to be completed within the term of the ruling grand alliance government.
The projects include an exclusive EPZ for the local entrepreneurs on the south bank of the river Karnafuli, a tunnel under the river Karnafuli at the estuary of the Chittagong Port, an international standard hospital under joint venture with Apollo Hospitals Ltd, an international standard school under joint venture with Delhi Public School and a flyover at Kadamtali connecting the CDA Avenue in the city.
CDA chairman Abdus Salam was briefing the newsmen at the CDA conference this afternoon following ECNEC's approval on Tuesday of the three flyovers undertaken by the CDA to be constructed on busy intersections of the city.
CDA secretary Md Kamal Reza, superintendent engineers Jashim Uddin Chowdhury and Hasan bin Shams were present on the occasion.
Salam said the tunnel will be constructed at the estuary of the river Karnafuli at an estimated cost of Tk 10,000 million within next three and a half years and it will be funded completely by the CDA.
