FE Report
Comprehensive Disaster Management Programme (CDMP) under the Ministry of Food and Disaster Management has undertaken an emergency response programme for flood-affected people in 15 districts of the country with the assistance of the British government and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Under this programme, CDMP will distribute relief materials worth $ 2.0 million among 77,000 families. Each affected family will receive 5 Kgs of flattened rice (Chira), 1 Kg of mollasses (Gur), 5 packets of ORS 20 WPT tablets, 1 mosquito net, 2 carbolic soaps, 2 laundry soaps, saree, lungi and towel (Gamcha), 6 pieces of candle and a match.
This response programme will be implemented through partner NGOs in collaboration with the district and upazila administrations and local disaster management committees.
The relief operation plan has been finalised in a meeting of CDMP senior officials held Tuesday with Chief Technical Advisor Ian Stanford Rector in the chair.
The meeting emphasised effective coordination and monitoring, to ensure emergency support services to the flood affected people.
