CEC meets CJ today

Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal will make a courtesy call on Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan today (Wednesday).
Mohammad Saifur Rahman, registrar of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, issued a press release in this regard.
Rahman said, "The chief election commissioner and other commissioners will call on the chief justice on November 1. It is requested that all refrain from spreading confusion in this regard."
The Appellate Division official further said, "After taking the oath as the chief justice, many officials, including the heads of various departments and organisations, have called on the chief justice. Such meetings are also scheduled in the future."
Different media reports suggested that the CEC will come to inform about the overall situation of the upcoming 12th national elections, including the announcement of its schedule, instead of a courtesy visit.
Referring to the news, Supreme Court Public Relations Officer Md Shafiqul Islam is a media release said those are not true.
