Friday, 6 March 2009

A Singapore-Bangladesh joint venture company will set up a central effluent treatment plant (ETP) in Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ). The company, D-Water CETP Ecosystems (BD) Limited, will invest $4.793 million to treat 15,000-43,000 cubic metres of liquid effluent per day. The plant will be set up in 16,000 square metres of land. It will make the environment of DEPZ more pollution-free, and also create employment opportunity for 35 people. An agreement to this effect was signed between BEPZA and the company in the city Thursday.
