CEPZ factory fire doused

A fire that broke out in a factory at Chittagong Export Processing Zone (CEPZ) in the port city on Friday morning has been doused. Fire service officials said the fire originated from an electric short circuit in the factory of Sanko Optical Co. (BD) Limited, a Japanese company, at about 7am and it soon engulfed the entire factory. On information, three fire fighting units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after one and a half hours of frantic efforts with the help of workers, staff and employees of the factory, according to UNB.
