Cha Sangsad signs agreement with tea workers' union

A bi-lateral agreement effective for two years from January 01, 2021 to December 31, 2022 was signed between the Bangladesh Tea Association (BTA)-Bangladeshiyo Cha Sangsad (BCS) the only representative body of tea estates of Bangladesh and the Bangladesh Cha Sramik Union (BCSU) on 23.12.2023 in office of Tea Association, Dhaka, says a press release.
As per the Agreement the daily cash wage of the members of the Labour Union was increased from Tk 120 to Tk 170 by (41.67 per cent increase). The Agreement reflected the cordial relationship of the Bangladesh Tea Association with the Bangladesh Cha Sramik Union.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kamran T. Rahman, chairman of Bangladesh Tea Association, said that joint initiatives and efforts of all employees and workers are needed to enhance quality tea production for increasing competitiveness of tea producers.
