Challenges of HR in banking profession

Tuesday, 9 October 2018

The Management Trainee (MT) or Probationary Officer (PO) position in a bank is fairly lucrative among the fresh graduates considering career growth, remuneration package etc. To create capable future leaders, the Human Resources Division (HRD) of a bank develops the MT/PO through different extensive development programmes that include phases of assessment tests.
Appointment of non-qualified persons in different positions of a bank sometimes creates serious problems. It also demoralises the newly-recruited young officers who toiled hard to get the bank job at the cost of his/her parents' huge investment.
Sometimes, the HRD tries to solve the issue with full support from the bank's top management.
Most of the banks in the industry recruit young HR professionals who have proper educational background and experience. These young HR professionals try hard to establish corporate governance in the industry through their knowledge and intelligence.
Today's banking industry needs fresh blood to excel with the support of HRD aligning with corporate governance ethos. Otherwise, the banks may face disastrous consequences.
