Chandpur-Laksham train service to be modernised

CHANDPUR, 24 Jul (BSS): Fifty- kilometer long Chandpur- Laksham train service to be modernized at a cost of Taka 105.54 crore during the current fiscal year.
According to Chandpur Railway Office sources, the work of the project has already been started.
Under modernization project, Modhuroad Rail Station line will be doubled and the station will also be modernized with latest facilities.
M/S Kalindi Rail Construction Company, an Indian firm, will carry out the modernization, construction, and development works of the project.
Md Liakat Ali, Deputy Engineer of Bangladesh Railway, said 12 Railway stations between Chandpur and Laksham will be reconstructed under the project. Besides, railway platforms and new sheds will also be constructed.
