Chandpur\\\'s rail links with Ctg, Laksam, Comilla resume after 31-hr

Rail communications on the Chandpur-Laksam, Chandpur-Comilla and Chandpur-Chittagong routes, which remained suspended following derailment of a freight train at Hajiganj upazila in Chandpur district, resumed after 31 hours on Friday. Bangladesh Railway (BR) sources said 12 bogies of the Chandpur-bound freight train which consisted of container carriers and oil tankers, went off the railway tracks at Bakalia at Hajiganj around 5:20pm on Wednesday. The train services on the three important routes resumed at 12:30 am on Friday after three relief trains from Laksam, Chittagong and Akhaura rushed to the spot and salvaged the derailed wagons. However, there was no report of casualty in the incident, according to UNB.
