Change in attitude, mindset linked to CSR success

Change of attitude and mind set could add value to the success of corporations in the area of corporate governance and corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Speakers at a seminar organised by the Department of BBA, Institute of Science and Technology (IST) on "Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility in Bangladesh" made the observation recently, said a press release.

They also stressed the need for accountability of the board members of corporations and ethical business process.

Prof. Dr. Victoria Wise, University of Tasmania, Australia and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mahboob Ali, chairman of the School of Business and Economics of Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology jointly presented a paper on the topic.

Chairman of the Department of Banking of Dhaka University (DU) Prof. Mujahidul Islam was present as the chief guest while Senior Consultant of the IFC Samir Asif was the special guest.

Dean of the Engineering Faculty of DU and Chairman of the Board of Governors of IST Prof. Dr. Shahida Rafique was present as the session chairman.

Among others, director of IST Ismail Jabiullah and Head of BBA Programme Delwar Hossain spoke on the occasion.
