NEW YORK, May 06: Rapid changes in the policy planning level at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank (WB) are being made as the situation in eurozone countries continues to deteriorate. Riot erupted in Greece despite the rescue package offered by IMF and some European nations. This has failed to calm down fear that the economic contagion will soon spread to Spain, Portugal, Italy and even in Britain.
The economic meltdown has wrought havoc in all sectors. Media have been a victim. Newsweek, the reputed US news magazine, has been put on sale by its parent company -- the Washington Post. Many television networks are now planning to launch joint news gathering as a cost saving devise. Time magazine is also facing financial problems.
