The Ministry of Home Affairs has shaken up Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).DMP released a statement Friday saying the ministry made changes in 17 posts the previous day. In its Thursday’s circular, the home ministry also ordered transfer of 59 police superintendents. At DMP, Additional Commissioner Md Shahabuddin Qureshi has been made Additional Commissioner (Admin Inspection and Audit). Additional Commissioner Sheikh Muhammad Maruf Hasan has been given the charge of crime and operation, and Mohammad Ibrahim Fatemi of logistics, finance and procurement. Joint Commissioner Md Monirul Islam has been entrusted with the responsibility of Joint Commissioner (DB and Prosecution). YM Belalur Rahman has got the charge of logistics, Mir Rezaul Alam of operation, Musleh Uddin Ahmed of traffic (south) and Krishnapada Roy of crime. Nine deputy commissioners have also been changed, according to a news agency.
