Charge framing against 44 Battalion soldiers on Nov 1

A special BDR court in Dhaka set November 1 to frame charges against soldiers of 44 Rifles Battalion accused of mutiny, reports bdnews24.com.
Outgoing Bangladesh Rifles director general Maj Gen Mainul Islam, who heads the panel of judges, adjourned the court until then after proceedings began at 10:45 am at the Darbar Hall of the border force's Pilkhana Headquarters Tuesday.
The 675 accused were present in the court.
The court ordered the accused to provide list of witnesses and get their statements by this period.
It also asked the accused to appear before the court with the same appearance that they had during the mutiny.
Lt Col AKM Golam Rabbani and Maj Sayeed Hassan Taposh assisted the BDR DG during the court proceedings.
Deputy attorney general Mohammad Ullah Kislu was present in the court on behalf of the attorney general.
Lt Col Kazi Aniruddha, commanding officer of the 44th Rifles Battalion, was the prosecutor.
Special prosecutor Mosharraf Hossain Kajal, Mohammad Shahnewaz Tipu and Manjur-e-Alam assisted him.
The government has formed six special courts to deal with mutiny while criminal charges including murder and arson will be tried in regular courts.
UNB adds: the special court-6 will start its proceedings to try mutineers of BDR Hospital under BDR Headquarters from today (Wednesday).
The special court-6, formed under the Bangladesh Rifles Order-1972ΒΈ will sit for the first time at the Darbar Hall of BDR headquarters to try the mutineers at around 9:00am.
