Charge hearing on Mig-29 scam case on Apr 9
Wednesday, 26 March 2008
Dhaka Divisional Special Sessions Judge's court fixed Tuesday April 9 for charge hearing against detained former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the recently revived Mig-29 purchase case, reports UNB.
The court of Justice Golam Mortuza Majumder passed the order, on prosecution information about the March 18 Supreme Court judgment that finally cleared the way for resuming the stalled trial proceedings of the long-pending warplane-purchase-scam case.
In its judgment, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court had dismissed all the petitions of the accused, including former prime minister and Awami League president Sheikh Hasina, upholding the High Court verdict that had ordered the revival of the case.
