FE Report | Wednesday, 26 September 2018

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday approved a charge sheet against a Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) official for his alleged
connection in embezzling Tk 50 million by selling fertiliser from government warehouse.
The accused is Mohammad Abdul Hye, deputy assistant director (fertiliser) and acting warehouse keeper in BADC office at Mohipal, Feni, said ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee.
The BADC official was in charge of the warehouse from December 31, 2007 to March 26, 2016 where he was responsible for signing DOs (demi official) for sales of fertilisers.
During his tenure, Mr Hye, abusing power, sold 1,413 tonnes of government fertiliser (483 tonnes of TSP, 649 tonnes of MOP and 281 tonnes of DMP) worth of Tk 50,450,950, which was eventually misappropriated by him.
