Charge-sheet filed against Khoka for treason

Monday, 8 December 2014

Police has submitted the chargesheet in a case against BNP leader Sadeque Hossain Khoka over treason. Paltan police station's Inspector (investigations) Tofael Ahmed filed the charge-sheet in the court of Dhaka's Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Bikash Kumar Saha on Monday. Court police's sub-inspector Moazzem Hossain said that the judge set Dec 14 for hearing on whether the charges would be taken into cognisance. The case refers to Khoka's statement made at a gathering on Oct 14 last year, when he called upon supporters to 'prepare with axe, machetes' to ‘oust’ the then Awami League-led Grand Alliance government. The chargesheet accuses the former Dhaka City Corporation mayor of inciting violence through his statement, according to a news agency.
