Charges against Babar on Aug 6

A Dhaka Court set on Sunday August 6 to pronounce the decision on framing charge against BNP leader and former state minister for home Lutfuzzaman Babar in a tax evasion case, reports BSS.
On indictment hearing, Judge Rezaul Islam of Dhaka Special Judge's Court fixed the date.
Deputy Tax Commissioner Syed Zakir Hossain of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) filed the case against Babar bringing allegation of hiding his property amounting Taka 8,06,80,112 in his wealth statement.
According to the allegation, Babar, director of Master Electronics Limited, evaded Taka 26.5 million as tax from 1999-2000 to 2008- 2009 fiscal year.
