CHITTAGONG, Aug 21 (UNB): Police submitted Thursday three charge sheets to a court against 13 Jamaat-Shibir activists in connection with the injury of a schoolgirl, Antu Barua, in a crude-bomb explosion in March last year.
Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) assistant commissioner (prosecution) Nirmalendu Bikash Chakrabarty said Kotwali Police Station sub-inspector M Kamruzzaman, who is also the investigation officer of the case, filed the charge sheets to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's court as per the Special Powers Act 1974 and sections 143, 148, 324, 307 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).
The indicted persons are Islami Chhatra Shibir's Chittagong city unit president Nurul Amin, its member Altaf Hossain, city (south) unit member Sohel Rana, Chittagong district (south) unit president Tareq Hossain, Bangladesh Jamaat-i-Islami's CMP Kotwali unit ameer (chief) Faisal Mohammad Yunus, Chittagong district (south) unit acting secretary Maulana Ferdous Qureshi, Islami Chhatra Shibir members Amjad Ali, Delwar Hossain, Manzur Alam, Kafil Uddin, Mizanur Rahman, its central unit student welfare secretary ASM Masroor Hossain and member ANM Haroon.

On March 28 last year, Antu Barua, a class IX student of Aparnacharan City Corporation School, was critically injured as some crude-bomb splinters pierced into her face near the right eye when Jamaat-Shibir activists reportedly blasted crude bombs during their procession in the Momin Road area.
CMP sources said the Jamaat-Shibir leaders involved in the crude-bomb explosions were identified after scrutinising several video footages.
