Charges pressed against Jamaat secretary general, nine others

Police has filed a charge-sheet against 10 Jamaat men, including its secretary general Mia Golam Parwar, in a case lodged under Anti-Terrorism Act, reports BSS.
Investigation agency Detective Branch (DB) of police submitted the charge sheet to Dhaka Anti-Terror Special Tribunal on Sunday.
"The tribunal has set July 21 for hearing on the charge sheet," Sub-Inspector Ranap Kumar of court's general registration wing told the news agwency.
The other accused in the case are Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer ANM Mohammad Shamsul Islam, Assistant Secretary Generals AHM Hamidur Rahman Azad and Md Rafiqul
Islam Khan, Central Executive Council Members Md Abdur Rob, Md Ijjat Ullah and Md Mobarak Hossain, Executive Council Member Md Yasin Arafat, Rafiqul's
driver Md Monirul Islam and party activist Md Abul Kalam Azad.
Police on September 6, 2021, arrested nine of them including Parwar from a flat at Block-D in the city's Basundhara residential area. Police filed the case with Bhatara thana on the same night.
