Former Law Adviser Justice Fazlul Haque, now the centre of a bribery scandal, will be charge-sheeted today (Monday) in the case filed against him by the Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) for amassing illegal wealth and hiding information about it, reports UNB.brSources said ACC Assistant Director Mohammad Ibrahim, also the investigating officer, will submit the charge sheet with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's (CMM) Court against the Law Adviser of President Iajuddin-led caretaker government (CG) for acquiring wealth worth Tk 18 million (1.8 crore) beyond known sources of income and concealment of information of wealth worth about Tk 9.1 million (91 lakh).brEarlier, Thursday, the anti-graft watchdog approved the submission of charge sheet against the former Appellate Division judge.brThe charge sheet in the case filed on April 13 this year will be submitted under sections 26(2) and 27(1) of the Anti-corruption Commission Act, 2004 and Section 15 of the Emergency Power Rules (EPR), 2007.brThere will be 36 witnesses in the case and Justice Fazlul Haque will be shown absconding in the charge sheet. The investigating officer will apply to the court for issuance of arrest warrant against Justice Fazlul Haque.brJustice Fazlul Haque, who for a while acted as head of the CG after President Iajuddin stepped down from the post of chief adviser, was one of the 35 corruption suspects whose names appeared on the fourth and final list published by the ACC on October 4, 2007.brOn November 18 last year, notice was issued directing him to submit his wealth statement. Justice Fazlul Haque complied with the ACC directive on November 26, 2007.
