Chargesheet in Aug 21 grenade attack on AL rally soon: IGP

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Nur Mohammad Wednesday said the chargesheet in the August 21 grenade attack on Awami League rally would be submitted soon. 'Investigation in the case is almost finished. I hope the case will be disposed of soon,' the IGP told reporters in the city after making his deposition to the judicial inquiry commission, headed by Justice Habibur Rahman Khan, on the August 20-22 student unrest at Dhaka University. Meanwhile, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) sources said detained Mufti Hannan, the supremo of the banned Islamist outfit Harkatul Jihad, will be taken on remand soon for interrogation over the grenade attack. —UNB
