A non-government group will celebrate Universal Children's Day Thursday with a view to giving slum children a chance of entertainment.
"We hope that our initiative will offer a positive and brighter future to the slum children," Korvi Rakshand, founder of Jaago Foundation, said.
The foundation will organise day-long activities for 1000 street children at Wonderland Amusement Park, he said.
He added that around 2000 volunteers sold flowers in the capital's 18 busiest points on behalf of street children and gave them the opportunity for an outing.
The volunteers included students of different schools and colleges and universities, international volunteers and participants from corporate organisations.
Last year, the foundation brought together around 500 street children to the Wonderland Amusement Park.
Akku Chowdhury, executive director of Transcom, Nazim Farhan Chowdhury, deputy managing director of Adcomm Ltd., Zihad Uz Zaman, general secretary of Jaago, were present at a press conference.
