Chattogram, Narayanganj road crashes kill six

A total of six persons were killed in separate road accidents in Chattogram and Narayanganj districts on Monday and Sunday, reports UNB.
In Chattogram, headmaster of a primary school was killed and a woman injured in a head-on collision between two autorickshaws at Badurtala in Boalkhali upazila of Chattogram district on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Utpal Chowdhury, 50, headmaster of Dakkhin Dhorla Government Primary School and son of Babul Chowdhury.
The accident occurred around 12:45pm when the two autorickshaws collided head on in the area, leaving two people including the headmaster injured.
Later, they were taken to Boalmari Upazila Health Complex where the doctors declared Utpal dead on arrival, said Dr Kanta Odhikari, on-duty doctor of the UHC.
In Narayanganj, five people died and four were injured in a head-on collision between a microbus and a battery-run three-wheeler on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in Siddhirganj upazila of Narayanganj district on Sunday morning, police said.
The deceased have been identified as Md Mamun, 26, Abu Hanif, 25, Nur Uddin, 45, Jamal Mia, 42, and an unidentified person aged 36.
Of the deceased, Hanif was the three-wheeler driver and rest were passengers of the vehicle while identities of the injured could not be known immediately.
Nabir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Kanchpur highway police station, said the accident happened around 9am when the Dhaka-bound microbus collided head-on with a battery-run auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction, in the Shimrail area on the west side of Kanchpur bridge.
