Cheating case against KHDC Chief, councillor dismissed

KHAGRACHHARI, Dec 27: The fraudulent case filed accusing Khagrachhari Hill District Council (KHDC) Chairman and two others at chief judicial magistrate's court on last October 28 was dismissed today (Sunday) in hill town Khagrachhari.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Iktiarul Islam Mollik dismissed the case as he did not find any grounds and proper witness statement.
Court sources said, Matiranga Upazila Sramik League Vice President Mohammad Abul Kalam had filed the case accusing Khagrachhari Hill District Council (KHDC) Chief Ruhity Karbary, its councillor Abu Bakar Siddiq and his younger brother Mohammad Rubel on last October 28.
In the petition he mentioned, both Khagrachhari Hill District Council (KHDC) Chief and its councillor had taken Tk 50 thousand in bribes through the younger brother of the councillor on last September 8 assuring him (petitioner) of allocating a 10 MT food grains project to cultivate fish at Alutila Battali under Matiranga Upazila in Khagrachhari district.
