Cheque-forgery in Jamalpur Pubali Bank

JAMALPUR, Sept 9 Mystery shrouds over the withdrawal of Tk 1.0 million through three forged cheques Tuesday from Pubali Bank branch at the district town. Bank's second officer Jahangir Alam said his signature was forged in withdrawing the money from the current account No. 2069, which had only Tk 1,000. Mahbub Alam, a carpenter opened the account barely three months ago. Three cheques - first one of Tk 0.5 million, the second of Tk 0.3 million and the third of Tk 0.2 million - were cashed on the day. br — UNBbr
