Chevron completes annual tree plantation programme

Chevron Bangladesh's 'Tree Plantation Programme 2007' has successfully ended after about a month of plantation activities in and around the operating areas in greater Sylhet.
Some 43,000 timber and fruit saplings have been planted in the areas near the Jalalabad, Moulavibazar and Bibiyana gas fields.
This year's plantation programme began on June 11 near the Jalalabad plant and ended on July 12 with a group of 27 employees from the company's Dhaka office taking part in a rejuvenation drive on a number of denuded hillocks at Komolganj of the Lauachhara Reserve Forest area in Srimongal, near the Moulavibazar gas field.
