Chevron launches blood donation drive

Chevron Bangladesh has launched its blood donation drive 2014 marking the World Blood Donor Day observed on Saturday. The drive in Dhaka was inaugurated by Chevron Bangladesh President Geoff Strong. On the first day of the drive on Sunday, employees of the Bibiyana Gas Field donated 349 bags of blood followed by Dhaka office staff on the second day who contributed 120 more bags. With 469 bags already in stock, more drives are scheduled for later this month for employees from the Jalalabad and Moulvibazar gas plants and Muchai Compression Project. A press release of Chevron said this year’s response for blood donation has already exceeded last year’s by 74 per cent, according to a news agency.
