Chilahati land port to be operational soon

NILPHAMARI, June 23: Chilahati land port in Domar Upazila in Nilphamari district is to be officially functional very soon. This has been disclosed here by Minister of Shipping Shahjahan Khan in a huge public meeting in the government college ground at Chilahti on June 19. Presided over by District Awami League president Dewan Kamal Ahmed, the meeting was addressed among others by MP Asaduzzaman Noor, MP Hamida Banu Shova, MP IE Maroof Saklain, MP Jafar Iqbal Siddiqui, Bangladesh Land Port Authority Chairman Yahia Chowdhury and others. Earlier in a separate meeting at zero point, 8.10 km from Chilahati, which was presided over by The Financial Express Correspondent and Land port implementation committee convenor Abu Musa Mahmudul Hoque and attended by all the MP's of the district, the minister reiterated the same commitment and said that Chilahati Land Custom Station, would be upgraded as a full-fledged land port.
