Chilahati landport reopens soon

NILPHAMARI, Apr 12: Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan said that the demand for reopening of Chilahati landport in the district would be implemented soon.
The minister was speaking at a reception accorded him by the local traders, importers and exporters at the central bus terminal of Saidpur recently.
The meeting was chaired by Nilphamari Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Abdul Wahed Sarkar. A charter of demands was placed before the minister.
AA Maroof Saklain, MP, Nilphamari District Awami League president Dewan Kamal Ahamed, Saidpur Municipality Mayor Akhter Hossain Badal, The Financial Express Correspondent and Convener of Chilahati Landport Implementation Committee Abu Musa Mahmudul Hoque were present on the occasion.
Later, the minister, who is also the president of Bangladesh Sarak Paribahan Sramik Federation, attended a reception given to him by Nilphamari District Bus Minibus Sramik Union.
