Child abducted from Gazipur found

A six-year-old abducted from Gazipur’s Tongi four days ago has been rescued and the kidnappers arrested. Md Yasin was found in a lodging house in Savar’s Tetuljhora on Sunday night and handed over to his family, said Tongi Police SI Md Belal Hossain. Marufa Akhter, 23, ‘Jamil’, 25, ‘Hridoy’, 20, and Mokhtar were arrested, he said. Among them, Marufa Akhter was once a tenant in a house owned by the child’s father Aman Ullah at Tongi’s Boubazar, said RAB-1 Company Commander Md Shoaib. She visited the family on November 5 and lured Yasin away to Munshiganj. ‘She then demanded Tk 500,000 as ransom.’ Aman filed a case with Tongi police station that day. Tongi police and RAB arrested the three suspects during a raid from Tongi’s Arichpur on Saturday night. Yasin was found and Marufa arrested from the lodging at Telujhora around 8:00pm on Sunday, according to a news agency.
