Child abducted from N\\\'ganj rescued in C\\\'nawabganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, July 19: A child abducted from Narayanganj on Thursday was rescued from Debinagar under Chapainawabganj sadar upazila on Friday afternoon.
The rescued child was identified as Emon, 6, son of Abdul Matin of Fatulla village under Fatulla upazila of Narayanganj district.
Police of Chapainawabganj sadar thana detained one person identified as Tajemul Hoque of Debinagar for interrogation.
OC of Chapainawabganj sadar thana Jasim Uddin said, one Jahangir Alam of Debinagar abducted Emon from Laksminagar under Fatulla upazila of Narayanganj district on Thursday last in the morning. Emon's father filed a case with the local police station in this connection. He added that in reference to that case, police of Chapainawabganj sadar thana raided the house of Jahangir on Friday at 5 pm and rescued the child. Jahangir could not be arrested. Later police handed over the child to his father Abdul Matin at night.
Jahangir worked in a brick kiln at Fatulla and he abducted the child for ransom but did not get the chance for quick action of police, he added.
