Child labour increasing in Natore

NATORE, Oct 7: The number of child labourers is increasing day by day in Natore Sadar, Lalpur, Bagatipara, Gurudashpur Baraigram,and Singra Upazilas under Natore distict due to poverty.
According to statistics available here about 4000 child labourers are engaged in different professions in different upazilas.
The children are of the age group of 7-12 years. Almost all of them are from landless, poor and distressed families.
A large number of the child labourers sell various commodities in trains, buses, and hat-bazars.
Some of them push rickshaws, some work as apprentices in various workshops, some work in restaurants, clinics, welding workshops, tea stalls and agricultural lands.
