China encourages installation of large thermal power units

BEIJING, June 26 (CEIS): Following the energy-saving and emission-cutting policy, China has progress in massively closed small thermal power plants and small thermal power units while building large and high-efficient power units.
One example is Huaneng Group, which has closed 49 small thermal power units with combined generating capacity of 1.4 million kw by the end of this June.
Another example is China Huadian Corp., which has closed 19 units with a total capacity of 992,000 kw, accounting for 67.5 per cent of its schemed number to be closed this year.
