China shares down

Chinese shares were lower in morning trading on Friday after data showed inflation accelerated in March, dealers said. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged down 0.04 per cent, or 0.91 points, to 2,133.39. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, fell 0.56 per cent, or 6.15 points, to 1,086.55. China’s inflation rose 2.4 per cent year-on-year in March, the government said Friday, stronger than the 2.0 per cent recorded in February, according to AFP.
