China shares down slightly in morning trade

Chinese shares were down slightly in morning trading on Thursday due to overnight losses in US stocks and worries over the domestic economy, dealers said. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slipped 0.19 percent, or 3.94 points, to 2,059.73. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, edged down 0.26 percent, or 2.83 points, to 1,086.03, according to AFP.
